It's a Knockout 2018

Event Date: Saturday 14th July 2018

Venue: Aspin Park Academy, Wetherby Road, Knaresborough, HG5 8LQ

Get your teams together for some team-building fun with the It’s a Knockout challenge, hosted by Friends of Aspin PTA charity. The event promises to be an absolute blast full of fun, water, foam and lots of laughs, and all for a great cause – raising funds for an outdoor learning facility to enhance children’s education.

It’s a Knockout is a competition based on the popular 1970s TV show, that brings fun-loving teams together to battle it out to win a prestigious trophy and raise much needed funds for Aspin Park Academy school. It’s a Knockout is being held at the school grounds, Knaresborough, on Saturday, July 14, from noon to 5pm and is open to teams of 6-10 adult participants. The children of Aspin Park Academy will also have the opportunity to take part in a separate competition running alongside the adult one.

As well as the It’s a Knockout challenge itself, there will be the school’s usual Summer Fair with a barbecue, food stalls and homemade cakes, a licensed bar, games, stalls and crafts and entertainment.

What are the team requirements?

Teams can have a maximum of 10 people – you may enter a team with less than 10 people but you will have to work harder! We ask that one of you take on the role of Team Captain as this makes it easier for us to contact you, if required. We also need you to come up with a team name – it can be as simple or as wacky as you like! There will also be prize for the best-dressed team!

Who can take part?

The event is not only for corporates and companies! Although it is a great team building day, anyone is welcome and if you want to get together with your family, friends or club members to create a team, then go for it!

Is there a minimum age limit?

Yes, you must be at least 16 years of age on the day of the event to compete in the main challenge.

(Please note the children of Aspin Park Academy will also have the opportunity to take part in a separate competition running alongside the adult one.)

Do we need to be really fit?

You need to be in good health, but this is not a marathon! As long as you are reasonably fit you shouldn’t have a problem – if you can manage on a bouncy castle then you can manage this event!

What do we need to bring on the day?

A change of clothes, shoes and a towel! Although we will be providing the best-dressed team with a prize, it is important to ensure that you wear something that you find easy to move in.

Can our families and friends come and cheer us on?

Of course! The more the merrier! There will be numerous food and drink stalls, bouncy castles and other entertainment for children and much, much more for you all to enjoy.

Is there parking available?

Yes, there will be plenty of on road parking available at the event near the school grounds.

How much is it to enter?

Registration is £5 per person based on a team of 10 people (£50 per team).

How do we register?

Your Team Captain can register your team by clicking on the ‘Register button’ at the top of this page. We require your team’s £50 registration fee to secure your team’s place in the event. Places will be filled on a first come first served basis, so we recommend that you make your payment as soon as possible to secure your team’s entry.

Do we need to raise sponsorship?

Although this is a fantastic fun day, the ultimate aim is to raise funds for our school. We therefore encourage each participant raise a minimum of £75 in sponsorship (£750 per team based on a team of 10 people). This can either be in the form of online or paper sponsorship forms for either the whole team or each participant – or a combination of both!

Once you register, we will provide you with sponsorship forms and help you with fundraising ideas.

Please note that by registering for It’s a Knockout Challenge, you acknowledge that in addition to the entry fee your team is encouraged to raise a minimum fundraising sponsorship.
